Poetry and Pilates

Updated: Oct 28

Here is a little taster from my self published poetry book, 'Crying Diamonds'. I wrote some of the poems in french, including the title of the book, 'Pleurer les diamants'. The book is available worldwide on Amazon, so you can also join in reciting in French.

This particular poem was about our passions and loves in life. The purpose and motivation we wake up for and makes us feel alive. There are certain moments in our lives and experiences where our whole body and being is saying 'YES' I really love and enjoy this. It is also about repression when we are told 'NO' or feeling like we need to behave in a certain way or conform, restricting our true passions in life however ultimately, I believe we should all feel at liberty to do what we want.

' Laissez-moi agir, Laissez- moi etre, Laissez-moi faire'.

I wrote this poem many years ago when I was training in acting, I loved how much it helped me begin my artistic process creatively and interestingly it was at a time when we were in a brexit vote and hung parliament and many people felt, unheard, unseen and unable. So.. there you go, a little bit of the backstory for, 'Pleurer les diamants'.

I am very happy to say that I am now qualified in Reformer Pilates. It has been a great addition to Zumba and my prior dance training and background and a challenge to teach. Fantastic for your body and has really helped wonders for my leg and back injuries and also building body strength in such a unique way.

I am teaching and practising at a studio in Notting Hill called, TEN where I will be based for the next year!

Come and join me for a class or one to one!
